Empty words form meaningless sentences
that become hollow lies spoken in the belief
that what you are saying
is what people want to hear
Poetry is a vast ocean
of emotional truths
drawn from
heartfelt experiences
Poems are pictures painted
between thin blue lines
with the brush of a pen
upon a canvas of paper
It is not how the poem is read
but how it makes you feel
it is not how the poem looks
but what do you see
Such is the dexterity
of the poetic artisan
who paints a picture
with naught but a pen

Bringing together three previously published works—The Arrangement of a Poetic Memoir, Infinite Destinies, and 1976—this collection invites readers into the literary journal of one man’s life.
A journey through darkness, laughter, and identity. The poems guide the reader from the darkness of mental health struggles to the lightness of laughter, through the pain of not knowing who you are or why you are here at all. Like a teardrop rolling from eye to lip upon a blushing cheek, the taste remains the same, no matter which emotion brought it forth. That salt carries the imprint of a veteran seafarer’s soul.
